Westlake-based Charles Schwab is working with Cboe Global Markets to introduce all-or-nothing options contracts that allow ​customers to place yes-or-no wagers on the ‌performance of the S&P 500, The Wall Street Journal reported. Schwab ​is expected to make binary options, which pay a set ​cash settlement or nothing at all depending ⁠on performance of an index, available to customers in ​the coming months.

Not toying around: Toy Story 5, from Disney and Pixar, set a franchise-record $160 million domestic debut this weekend. The animated sequel opened in 4,425 theaters and posted a remarkable per-theater average of $36,158, giving it the biggest domestic opening of 2026 and the largest in Toy Story history. Globally, the film collected an estimated $312 million.

A Siemens factory opened in south Fort Worth in 2025 and projected to have 800 employees by 2027, already has more than 1,000 and has put city officials, colleges and training schools in overdrive

Trademark Property Company announced the openings of Pottery Barn and West Elm at Westbend off University Drive, bringing the property to 100% leased across more than 281,000 square feet of mixed-use space. The two retailers occupy more than 22,000 square feet.

eBay shareholders rejected a governance proposal that would have lowered the threshold to call a special shareholder meeting from 20% to 10%. The vote keeps GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen, who holds nearly 9%, from being able to force a special shareholder meeting independently in his takeover bid.

Grapevine unanimously approved the request for a conditional use permit from Classic Chevrolet to renovate the warehouse facility located at 2200 William D. Tate Ave. to a service center for automobiles. 

Fort Worth will host an informational open house about data centers from 5-7 p.m. June 30. The come-and-go event, in the lobby of city hall at 100 Fort Worth Trail, will allow attendees to visit topic-specific tables, ask questions and speak directly with subject-matter experts and staff. 

An entity of Mill Valley, California-based Redwood Trust sold Apex Apartments at 5320 East Rosedale Street in Fort Worth to Plano-based Ninety9 Capital. The 10-building, 134,800-square-foot apartment complex, built in 1968, occupies seven acres west of Rosedale’s intersection with Loop 820 near Lake Arlington. Apex Property Company executed a $12.8-million loan from California lender CoreVest Finance in 2022. A CoreVest LLC bought the property at a foreclosure auction for $12.5 million, or about $82,000 per unit, and sold it to Redwood’s LLC for an undisclosed price in October 2025, according to Tarrant County deeds.

Yum! Brands is selling its Pizza Hut restaurant chain in a $2.7-billion deal to two buyers. Private equity firm LongRange Capital will acquire operations outside of mainland China, and Yum China will acquire the mainland China business. The strategic shift is designed to streamline Yum! Brands' focus on its faster-growing chains, KFC and Taco Bell.

  • D-FW International Airport is doing an open call for two new public artworks for the renovated Terminal C, a four-phase, $9-billion project upgrading the airport’s facilities and amenities. The call for proposals is open to artists and artist teams located anywhere.

  • American Airlines gave an LAX-to-Seattle flight a World Cup-style send-off, surprising passengers with a decorated gate, jerseys, U.S. Soccer amenity kits and giveaways before its match against Australia. The promotion was part of American’s push around the FIFA World Cup 2026, with the airline adding 27,000 seats across 12 routes.

Today in history (1917): Davey O’Brien was born in Dallas. The TCU quarterback led the Horned Frogs to the 1938 national championship and won the Heisman Trophy, becoming one of Fort Worth’s most enduring sports namesakes. Each year, college football's top quarterback selected by a committee receives the Davey O’Brien Award.
