Texas lawmakers are looking to expand a pilot program launched in Tarrant County by Child Care Associates, which directed millions in federal funding to 19 early learning centers, helping stabilize operations, raise wages and lower costs for families. The Child Care Innovation Pilot would aim to assist an estimated 52 childcare programs in the first phase with workforce development boards in Tarrant County and North Central Texas as partners.
Dallas-based HKS and Hensel Phelps of Greeley, Co., have been selected to develop the west Fort Worth campus of the University of Texas at Arlington. Hensel Phelps has done several projects with the UT System and HKS is well known in the area for its work on AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field and TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium.
Landman lands another degree: Texas Christian University announced it was awarding an honorary doctor of letters degree to Taylor Sheridan for his “artistic achievements as a writer, director and producer.” Last year, the Paschal High School grad received an honorary degree from Texas State University. Sheridan also is the commencement speaker for The University of Texas' class of 2025.
