Fort Worth-based Source Advisors, a specialty tax consulting firm, has acquired Arlington-based United Paramount Tax Group, a firm specializing in real property tax reduction services and business personal property tax management. The acquisition adds a vital service line to Source Advisors' portfolio.

Austin-based Endeavor Real Estate Group has started a student housing division and has TCU as a client. The Austin Business Journal reports TCU selected a private partner to design, build, finance, maintain and operate assets, specifically a mixed-use development featuring housing, office, retail and parking across multiple university-owned sites.

50 Fort Worth police officers are going to Milwaukee this week to help with security, traffic control and special events coordination at the Republican National Convention. 19 are from the Direct Response Unit and 31 from the Central Bike Unit. Congress approved $75 million in federal security grant monies for the convention and Fort Worth will be reimbursed $220,456 for salaries, overtime and travel expenses.

Amazon has gone live with Rufus, an AI-trained expert shopping assistant trained on Amazon’s product catalog to answer customer questions on shopping needs, products, comparisons, make recommendations based on this context, and facilitate product discovery. It's a small launch to the mobile app, but will roll out fully within weeks. 

JLL Capital Markets secured senior and mezzanine financing for the borrower of a first-phase development of Northwest Village, a Class A multi-family project located near the AllianceTexas community. Developed by Woodfield Development, Northwest Village will feature 455 luxury apartments and townhomes, including 238 one-bedroom, 194 two-bedroom and 23 three-bedroom units. The first apartments are expected in early 2026.

Fort Worth is seeking local food vendors and restauranteurs to participate in a dining program at the new city hall. It has partnered with Fooda to bring a mix of app-based convenience and variety to the building’s dining scene through a pop-up program that will bring different local restaurants to the building during the work week. Fort Worth-based AI startup SmartAction has been acquired by St. Louis AI software company Capacity. SmartAction provides AI-powered answering machines and text chats for companies such as AAA and DSW.

Fort Worth-based AZZ had Q1 earnings of $1.46 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.31. Earnings for the quarter a year ago were $1.14.

During PetSmart National Adoption Week, July 15-21, the goal of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is to match 300 pets with their forever families. For every pet adopted, PetSmart Charities will donate to Fort Worth shelters with the funds providing heartworm treatment and enrichment supplies. All pets are fixed, microchipped, up-to-date on their vaccines, and adoption fees are waived.
