General Motors Arlington Assembly has produced its 13 millionth vehicle. A 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V rolled off the production line during a ceremony celebrating the plant's 70th anniversary. Pricing for the vehicle starts around $150,000.

Andrew Left, the stockbroker central to the GameStop stock saga, allegedly used his TV commentator platform to ‘manipulate the market,' according to the Department of Justice, which has charged him with fraud. 

American Airlines flight attendants won an additional $4.2 billion in pay and benefits, according to a tentative deal released by their union. The deal includes an immediate 18% pay increase and boarding pay. Some flight attendants, such as those who have been working for seven years, could see pay-scale increases of 120% over five years, according to a chart from the union, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA).

Late Sunday, 817 Biz learned that David Cooke, Fort Worth's longest-serving City Manager, will announce as early as Monday that he is retiring during February 2025. Cooke became City Manager June 30, 2014, and oversees an approximate budget of $2.6 billion with more than 7,000 employees.

NATO has awarded contracts to Lockheed Martin, Airbus and Leonardo to develop concepts for medium-lift military helicopters. The alliance plans to deliver the new class of helicopters by 2035-2040. NATO didn’t disclose contract values, but earlier tenders suggest each helicopter is worth $6.2 million.

The Texas Heart Institute announced that an experimental, totally artificial heart, the BiVacor TAH, kept a Houston man alive for several days until he received a heart transplant; otherwise, he would have died from heart failure. There will be more human trials, but it is likely that one day BiVacors will sit on hospital shelves. (Texas Monthly)

American Express and Main Street America announced the 500 small business owners who have been awarded $10,000 through the Backing Small Business Grant Program. Fort Worth's three winners led all Texas cities, which received 17 grants. Acre Distilling, Black Coffee, and Green Thistle Emporium were the Fort Worth honorees.
