Irving-based 7‑Eleven filed suit against Nike in federal court in Dallas, claiming the new Air Max 95 color array rips off the convenience chain's orange, green and red striping. The suit asks a judge to stop the release, order a recall of any distributed, and award monetary damages. The filing also says the shoe was to drop July 11, the chain's annual "7‑Eleven Day" promo, and that it had failed to work it out with Nike. 

The Texas Stock Exchange, headquartered in Dallas, begins trading this morning with a phased rollout, marking the first major challenge to the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq in decades. Thousands of stocks will become available throughout July, with exchange-traded products expected later this year and corporate listings planned by the end of 2026. 

General Motors and Micron Technology signed a long-term deal that secures a stable supply of memory and storage chips for GM’s future vehicles. The agreement comes as DRAM prices have surged roughly 70% since December amid AI-driven demand. Additionally, the companies will co-develop memory technologies optimized for software-defined vehicles, advanced driver-assistance systems and AI-powered in-cabin experiences. 

Texas' Attorney General office is investigating StubHub because of widespread reports the company is canceling or failing to provide World Cup tickets that fans have purchased days or even hours before kickoff. StubHub blamed the cancelations on "transfer problems" tied to FIFA's ticketing platform, but consumer complaints point to a broader pattern often called "ghost ticketing," in which sellers list tickets they do not actually possess, collect payment and then cancel when they cannot deliver. 

The Republican National Committee will host a not-previously-scheduled, mid-term convention in Dallas Sept. 9-10. The event represents a rare tourism opportunity for D-FW as political parties typically only hold conventions during the final stretches of a presidential campaign. 

Did you know? The record for the most expensive rifle ever sold at auction is now $5,875,000. Rock Island Auction Company in Bedford offered the Henry rifle serial no. 1 at “The American Sale.” The previous record was $5 million for the Colt Single Action Army revolver that fatally shot Billy the Kid. The Henry originally was presented by the maker, New Haven Arms Co., to Abraham Lincoln’s Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton.

Fort Worth's Bo French, the Republican nominee for Texas Railroad Commissioner, was not happy with the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold birthright citizenship. "The correct response to the traitorous decision today on anchor babies is nullification,” French wrote on X. “Texas can just do things and we should. Texas is sovereign. If I have anything to say about it, Texas will not recognize them as citizens."

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock, a former state Senator from North Richland Hills, will resign at the end of the month. He oversaw Texas’ $1-billion school voucher rollout, but was defeated in March by Texas Sen. Don Huffines in his bid to be a full-term Comptroller. Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Huffines, a Dallas-area businessman and former Republican lawmaker, to be Comptroller until the end of the year. Huffines will face Democrat Sarah Eckhardt in November for the term beginning January 1.

The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame announced six new Hall of Famers for its landmark 50th year. This year’s inductees are:

Office Depot has closed two D-FW area stores, including one in Grapevine. The local closings come after ODP Corp., which includes Office Depot and Office Max stores in the U.S. and Canada, was acquired by Atlas Holdings, an investment firm in a transaction valued at about $1 billion. 

The untold story of Jimmy Stewart’s World War II service and the role that pulled him back from the edge — is heading home to Fort Worth. Hien Papaian, founder of Papaian Studios, said Fort Worth's Lone Star Film Festival will host the world premiere Nov. 4, 2026. Stewart was Fort Worth's celebrity ambassador during the 1970s, supporting philanthropic efforts for the Fort Worth Zoo, recording tourism advertisements and filming Strategic Air Command.

American Fusion is relocating its headquarters from Midland to Fort Worth in a two-phase move, consolidating engineering, fabrication, lab and administrative operations under one roof. The company says it is near a Texas Tech testing agreement and has filed seven new U.S. patent applications for its Texatron™ Fusion Engine™ platform.

The Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership has been selected by Site Selection magazine to receive the 2026 Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development, the nation’s highest honor in the industry. The Fort Worth EDP is among 23 economic development organizations to receive the distinction this year.

A coalition of environmental groups filed suit to overturn the city of Barstow’s approval of Fort Worth-based BNSF Railway's $4-billion Barstow International Gateway, citing deficiencies in the environmental assessment that understate the project’s impact. The 4,500-acre Barstow International Gateway will enable containers to move by rail from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. 

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. in Fort Worth was awarded a $14,508,319 cost-plus-fixed-fee order to provide comprehensive diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages management services for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Air System, including supply chain monitoring, subcontractor oversight, obsolescence management, technology refresh planning, inventory assessments and cost forecasting. Approximately one-third of the work is to be performed in Fort Worth. 

Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control in Grand Prairie won two Army contracts late last week, one a $347,500,000 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for development, fabrication and testing of improvements to prototype air and missile defense systems. The other is a $35,820,000 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for the Advanced Capability-3 Software Task, Year Nine.
