After 27 years of leadership under Dr. Tad Bird, All Saints’ Episcopal School will welcome its third Head of School on July 1, 2025. The Board of Trustees has appointed Wallace "Wally" Worden, the current Assistant Head of School, as Dr. Bird’s successor. Dr. Bird will transition to Head of School Emeritus.
“We are fortunate to be making this transition from a position of strength in programming and people,” said Head of School Dr. Bird, “and I’m passing the baton to Wally with full confidence that All Saints’ is remarkably well prepared for the future.”
“All Saints’ is in a unique position to capitalize on the stability of a homegrown candidate who has already proven to be invested in our community and successful at managing the day-to-day operations of the campus.”
Dr. Bird’s 27-year tenure has transformed the School from a small parish institution into a premier Age 3-Grade 12 college preparatory school. His key accomplishments include:
Leading fundraising efforts and overseeing the development of the 147-acre gated campus serving 1,200+ students.
Expanding the Early Childhood program from 38 to 160 students, maintaining a consistent wait pool.
Growing the endowment from $300K in 1998 to $35M today.
Elevating mission-focused traditional curricular tenets through strategic partnership with the Lee & Ramona Bass Foundation.
Establishing the Tad Bird Honors College for highly motivated Upper School students.
Under his leadership, students have gained acceptance to top universities, earning an average of $13.8M in merit scholarships per class, with 14% signing to play collegiate athletics.
“Having worked alongside Dr. Bird for 25 years, I have learned from him firsthand,” said Wally Worden. “I am excited to continue his vision.”
This transition comes as All Saints’ prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary this fall. The School, located in west Fort Worth, serves approximately 1,200 students, offering small class sizes, outstanding athletics, and an award-winning arts program. Learn more here.
