Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a school choice bill into law, allocating $1 billion for about 100,000 students to use for alternative schools tuition or other educational purposes. The money can be used to pay for textbooks, academic tests, transportation to school, computers and meals during the school day.
Warren Buffett said he plans to hand over the reins at Berkshire Hathaway to Vice Chairman Greg Abel at year-end, and has no plans to sell any shares. Abel oversees the company's operating businesses and had been named successor in 2021. During Buffett's 60 years at the helm, Berkshire shares have compounded at a 19.9% annual rate (vs. 10.4% S&P 500) and resulted in a 5,502,284% return. A $10,000 investment in 1965 is worth more than $500 million.
David Cooke, just two months after leaving as Fort Worth's City Manager, has taken the top spot of Sundance Square management, according to Fort Worth Report sources. Ed and Sasha Bass, who are friends with the Cookes, are sole owners since 2019. Cooke came under scrutiny while City Manager for taking non-business, private flights with the Basses.

Fort Worth approved nearly $7.4M in infrastructure reimbursements for two historic buildings to get new life as residential facilities. The 300K-square-foot former Oncor office building at 115 W.
