According to September employment data, Texas led the nation with the largest 12-month jobs gain. It also set records for the number of Texans working, the size of its labor force and the total number of jobs.

Wild ride: Fort Worth-based SEGG Media Corporation, off a buying spree during 2025, terminated its Chief Executive Officer, Secretary and President Matthew McGahan, and appointed Chief Financial Officer Robert Stubblefield as Interim CEO. In addition, it closed a $2.5-million Securities Purchase Agreement in late November. The funds will be used to reach milestones outlined in its 90-day plan of key initiatives.

Texas' Attorney General office is suing Epic Systems, the electronic medical records conglomerate that owns MyChart, alleging that it has a monopoly on the industry and makes it difficult for parents to access their children’s medical records. The anti-trust suit accuses Epic of “inserting” itself as the “gatekeeper” of patient data, by “locking up” hospitals into its electronic health records systems, then dictating when and which individuals can access said data. Epic's website says it has â€œmore than 325 million patients” with electronic records.

Former Fort Worth Councilman Franklin Moss has passed away, according to a social media post by his son and former associates. He served two terms, from 1998-2004 and 2007-2013. Moss is survived by his wife, Christene and three children, Edmond, Kimberlyn and Franklin. 

The family of a man killed in a massive crash on I-35 during the 2021 winter storm was awarded $44.1 million. A jury found that Missouri trucking company New Prime Inc. did not provide adequate training for winter weather driving. Six people were killed in a crash involving more than 130 vehicles. Federal investigators found that roads were not properly maintained prior to the winter storm and that driver speed also played a factor.

Last week, the NFL announced it would be spending up to $32 million to build men's and women's flag football leagues. Tarrant resident Marjorie Lewis is the Commissioner of the startup Global Flag Football League. Multiple lawsuits filed in Texas on behalf of Ukrainian citizens allege that Texas Instruments, Intel, Advanced Micro Devices and Mansfield-based Mouser Electronics evaded U.S. export laws to supply semi-conductor parts to the Russian and Iranian militaries. The suits allege Mouser, an electronics component distributor, facilitated the sale of chips made by TI and Intel to Russia.

University of Texas at Arlington researcher Muthu Wijesundara has been selected a 2025 fellow by the National Academy of Inventors, considered among the highest honors for inventors. He is head of the Biomedical Technologies Division at UT-Arlington's Research Institute. Among his notable innovations is a robotic exoskeleton arm that lightens the load—literally—by reducing strain on the arm and elbow.

A joint venture between Fort Worth-based Elbit Systems of America and Collins Aerospace passed a key test for their Zero-G Helmet Mounted Display System being produced for the U.S. Navy. The program focuses on integrating the helmet for the F/A-18E Super Hornets and EA-18G Growlers. 

The Bedford City Council approved a professional services agreement with Lose Design to produce tennis and pickleball courts at Generations Park at Boys Ranch. The courts will be located in the northwest corner of the park, just north of The Bedford Center YMCA. The estimated completion is 2027.

Switzerland hinted in August that it would trim its order of 36 Lockheed Martin F-35As and made it official this weekend because of a $610-million price increase for the fifth-generation fighter jets. The Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport said “it is not financially viable to maintain the originally planned number," instead signaling that a “maximum” quantity will be acquired in line with an approved six billion Swiss Franc budget (7.5 billion U.S. dollars).

Google has filed plans with the state on a $40-billion data center investment to expands its facilities in Midlothian. A 288,000-square-foot data center would be the fifth building at its site. Google estimates a February 2027 delivery at a cost of approximately $800 million.
