Meaty makeover: According to a recent filing, Cattlemenā€™s Steak House is planning nearly $3 million in renovations. Construction will begin this fall with an estimated completion date of October 2024. Renovations include an interior remodel, and a new outdoor patio. Cattlemenā€™s opened its doors in the Stockyards in 1947.

The U.S. Army awarded Bell Textron up to $1.3 billion to develop a tiltrotor helicopter to eventually replace the UH-60 Black Hawk. Bellā€™s V-280 Valor tiltrotor design was chosen over Sikorsky-Boeingā€™s Defiant X coaxial rotor blade platform. The initial $232 million funding is to develop a prototype, which will be evaluated. If approved, the procurement process will proceed.

Timely opening: The Watch Preserve will open Sept. 2 at 1253 W. Magnolia Ave., where it will specialize in buying, selling, and repairing authentic vintage timepieces.

DFW corridor study: Plans to link Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas with high-speed rail are moving ahead, and planners want to hear what potential users of the system think. The formal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process of the D-FW High-Speed Transportation Connections Study will kick off in September, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments is hosting four open house events to allow the public a chance to learn more about the project. The first open house is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29 at NCTCOGā€™s Arlington offices. Subsequent open houses can be found here.

Grapevine-based Car Capital Technologies raised nearly $3.7 million in equity, options and warrants from five investors. Its digital platform gives dealers a process to base decisions on the economics of each unique car and consumer.

Westlake-based real estate investment firm Gentry Mills Capital says it is looking to fund GMI-Property Improvement Plan LP with a $3.8 million raise. Its niche has been limited-service hotels.
