CBRE in Fort Worth, the only bidder, was awarded a $22,576,570 fixed-price contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for real estate appraisal services. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of June 4, 2031. 

Burleson-based Air Center Helicopters was awarded an $82.8-million, fixed-price contract to provide Vertical Replenishment services beginning July 25. During extensive periods at sea, it is anticipated the detachment will be primarily assigned to Combat Logistics Force ships of the T-AKE class and used to meet Seventh and Fifth Fleet requirements. The Navy contract contains a one-year base period, with option periods covering 4.5 years.

Boeing ($90B), Airbus ($80B) and Lockheed Martin ($75B) were the top three aviation revenue generators, according to 2025 numbers compiled by Simple Flying. There was a huge drop of approximately $60 billion dollars to No. 4 Textron, the parent company of Bell Helicopter

Google agreed to pay SpaceX as much as $30B for cloud compute capacity in a three-year deal, adding value ahead of the Elon Musk-led company's Friday IPO. The compute capacity includes access to 110,000 Nvidia GPUs, CPUs, memory and other related components.

The book "How to Not Die in Prison" by Taylor Sheridan and ex-con Tom Nelson will be released June 23. Sheridan spoke with Woman's World about his favorite book (by a Texas great) and its influences on his writing and film-making. 

Season 3 of television series Lioness, a non-Western thriller from Taylor Sheridan, has an Aug. 2 release date. The core cast, which includes Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, and Morgan Freeman, will return for the new season. 

Canada temporarily has banned livestock imports from Texas after the detection of New World screwworm, a flesh-eating parasite. Under the restrictions, any cattle, horses and other livestock originating from Texas — or that were present in the state within 21 days before crossing — are denied entry into Canada.

The NCAA again denied an appeal from Texas Tech to allow quarterback Brendan Sorsby to play during 2026. Sorsby has been suspended for admittedly gambling on college football games. Still alive is a temporary injunction suit against the NCAA by Sorsby being heard by Senior Judge Ken Curry of Fort Worth. Granting an injunction would mean Curry believes there's validity to the case that Sorsby is bringing against the NCAA, and that it would cause him permanent damage to not play. Denying an injunction would de facto end his college career. 

Modern Aviation broke ground on a two-hangar complex at Fort Worth’s Meacham International Airport with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027. The development is two 39,200-square-foot hangars with a 4,375 square-foot office. Both hangars are designed to accommodate the largest business jets currently in production.

The Fort Worth office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has sued Cypress, Texas resident Nathan Fuller because of a crypto venture that regulators say brought in about $12.3 million from nearly 150 investors by claiming proprietary artificial intelligence bots were doing the trading. The SEC alleges that millions of dollars were instead funneled to personal spending and Ponzi-like payouts.

With millions of visitors expected in north Texas during the FIFA World Cup, researchers at The University of Texas at Arlington led by Yunyao Li will conduct a field experiment to measure how large crowds, increased traffic and more flights affect the air quality. Li is an assistant professor of earth and environmental sciences and director of the Atmospheric Intelligence & Modeling Lab.

Fort Worth has the capability to launch a Flock Drone as part of its First Responder program, giving police officers real-time aerial awareness just in time for the FIFA World Cup. The drone puts eyes on a scene immediately after a call comes in, helping officers understand what they are walking into before they arrive.

Fort Worth's Municipal Parking Services launched GoFW.co, an interactive, web-based tool to simplify parking and improve mobility across the most active corridors.
