Tarrant County Commissioners continued their tax cuts, voting 3-2 to lower the JPS Health Network tax rate to $0.1875 per $100 of a home’s taxable value; the hospital district’s 2024 fiscal year rate was $0.1945. Commissioners Roy Charles Brooks and Alisa Simmons voted against the proposal, stating it is not fiscally responsible to cut the hospital district’s tax rate. In a related matter, Fort Worth ISD, in a 7-2 vote, issued resolutions opposing the Tarrant Appraisal District 2025-26 re-appraisal plan, and the Tarrant Appraisal District 2025 budget, both with property tax cuts that affect their funding.

Self-serve beer bar Hoppin’ will open this Saturday at 2608 Weisenberger Street, Fort Worth.
