The 301st Fighter Wing in Fort Worth became the first standalone Reserve unit in the Air Force to get an F-35. Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, where the wing is based, is the 12th location to host the F-35 across the Air Force. 

Autonomous truck company Aurora Innovation told investors it won’t start hauling freight without humans on board until April of next year. The Fort Worth to Phoenix route is delayed longer. 

WilliamsRDM, a local, woman-owned defense manufacturer, has contracted with PRIM Construction to begin construction on its office and manufacturing building. The 12-month project, designed by Schwarz Hanson Architecture and managed by Joe Bloodworth, will span 85,000 square feet at its location in Benbrook off Loop 820.

Michelin and Travel Texas announced its first Texas stars. Three Tarrant restaurants were cited, but star-less-- Panther City BBQ and Birrieria Y Taquieria Cortez in Fort Worth, and Smoke‘N Ash in Arlington. In addition, Goldee's Barbecue in southeast Fort Worth received a Bib Gourmand Award for its quality meats at reasonable prices.

The Foundry District, a collection of warehouses near Carroll Street and White Settlement Road, is getting a makeover. Owner Asana Partners revealed its plans to Culture Map. 

PNC Bank has announced plans to increase its branch investment by $500 million to nearly $1.5 billion and open more than 200 new branches across 12 U.S. cities. It also will renovate 1,400 existing locations during the next five years.

Founder M&A announced that Texas Overhead Door in Burleson and Magnolia has been acquired by an undisclosed buyer. Eric Fletcher is staying on as President. 

Some Six Flags Entertainment Corp.'s theme parks might be sold after the $2-billion merger with Cedar Fair, the St. Louis Business Journal reported. The company operates 27 amusement parks and 15 water parks in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It plans to review that portfolio and divest assets it decides are outside its core operations.

Dallas Baptist University announced its business school will be named Don and Linda Carter School of Business, celebrating a $20-million donation from the family of the founding owners of the Dallas Mavericks. It is the largest single gift in the school’s history.

Fort Redemption restaurant is open at 5724 Locke Ave., in Fort Worth. Owner Tony Chaudhry had operated a BBQ and taco food truck under the same name the last four years. Dinner menu offerings include steaks, rack of lamb, and pasta with lobster and shrimp. Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

Colleyville approved $216k in funding to update the Colleyville Center's technology, and design a right-turn lane extension along Heritage Avenue.

Texas A&M University System, Fort Worth and Tarrant County officials celebrated the “topping out” of the first building at Texas A&M-Fort Worth. Once it is completed in 2026, the eight-story, $185-million building will feature law, medical technology, nursing, engineering and other programs related to economic development and workforce solutions.

Factoid: Republicans flipped 23 Democrat-held seats in five appellate courts across Texas, winning 25 of 26 contested races and drastically altering the appellate landscape, according to the Texas Minute. In Dallas’s Fifth Circuit, Republicans flipped seven seats, including the chief justice. A 12-1 Democrat majority is now an 8-5 Republican majority.
