DICK'S Sporting Goods has plans for an 800,000-square-foot distribution center on an 89.5-acre site in the Risinger/35 Logistics Park in south Fort Worth. The project will be developed and built by Hillwood. The facility will serve more than 100 DICK's Sporting Goods brick-and-mortar stores across several states. Construction is expected to start this fall, with an opening in early 2026.

Tough week: 3 former employees have made claims about poor conditions at SeaQuest in Ridgmar Mall. PETA has sent a letter to Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells asking for an investigation of the allegations. And, Vince Covino, founder and CEO of SeaQuest, announced that he is quitting the company. 

According to Sportico, the Dallas Cowboys have become the first sports franchise valued above $10 billion. In its annual valuations of NFL teams, Sportico lists the Cowboys at $10.32 billion, followed by the Los Angeles Rams at $7.79 billion. Rounding out the top 5 are NY Giants ($7.65B) NE Patriots ($7.31B) and SF 49ers ($6.86B).

Mayor Mattie Parker after Fort Worth voted to settle a multi-year lawsuit with former Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald: “(edited) Watching Chief Noakes and his command staff work under intense pressure and heartbreaking circumstances yesterday was nothing short of phenomenal ... a reminder that our community should take great pride in our police department. It is both exhausting and unnecessary to continue discussing an individual who has not been employed by the city for over five years.”

Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics have signed a strategic agreement for the production of solid rocket motors.

A proposed $9.22 monthly street fee by Fort Worth was scrapped in May over concerns about the cost to residents. Instead, the city, for the first time in 30 years, has proposed raising the property tax rate (for residents) from 67.25 cents per $100 of value to 67.73 cents. Estimates are $60 a year of an additional tax per household, or $9 million...for road maintenance. The $9.22 monthly would total $110.64.

An income-producing property at 4451 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., #B17 in Northlake, has been purchased by Also Group from K&A United. The sale price was not disclosed. K&A United was repped by Lee Owen and Layne Kasper of WWG Team Compass Commercial.

Fort Worth-based Creative Solutions in Healthcare has acquired Kirbyville and El Paso skilled nursing facilities, totaling 228 beds. Creative Solutions is a family-owned company, founded by Gary and Malisa Blake in 2000, with more than 170 long-term care communities in Texas.

A judge has blocked the release of school district ratings from the Texas Education Agency, after a lawsuit brought forth by school districts over changes to the metrics used to measure their performance.

Bloomberg reports Kroger Co. and Albertsons Cos. have spent more than $800 million on fees to lawyers, bankers and advisers for their proposed merger. If completed, it would be the largest deal between two U.S. grocery chains.

Non-profit organization, Tarrant County Blue, is asking for donations in support of the family of fallen police officer Sgt. Billy Randolph with the Fort Worth Police Department. As expected, Fort Worth voted to approve the purchase of the Center for Transforming Lives building at 512 W. 4th St. for its downtown Fort Worth Library. The building originally was the Elks Club, then the YWCA occupied it before changing its name to the Center for Transforming Lives.
