Tarrant County records show Continental Tire purchased the land from Hillwood in late 2023. The project is being reviewed and work is set to finish in early 2026, according to the city’s development services department.

Charles Schwab customers brought a class action against the company in federal court for breaching its fiduciary duties in the way it handles their funds in its cash sweep program. Schwab and its wholly-owned broker-dealer automatically sweep uninvested cash balances in its customers’ accounts and deposit them in affiliated banks, where they can earn interest. The suit claims the sweep method was used to help purchase TD Ameritrade.
General Motors was ordered by a federal appeals court to face a class action claiming it violated laws of 26 U.S. states by knowingly selling several hundred thousand cars, trucks and SUVs with faulty transmissions. It ruled a lower court judge had discretion to let drivers sue in groups over Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles equipped with 8L45 or 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmissions for the 2015-2019 model years.
American Airlines Group and six executives have been targeted with a securities class action in a Texas federal court. The suit accuses the airline of falsely marketing new sales strategies as profitable and concealing the fact that those strategies were unsustainable.
Fort Worth has authorized $1,340,000 in Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund funding to 115 W. 7th LLC. A federal district court judge temporarily blocked part of a social media law designed to prevent Texas children from accessing certain content online. Judge Robert Pitman found the requirement unconstitutional that social media companies filter out harmful content. But Pitman did not block other portions of the law, including a requirement that parents consent to their child creating an account.
Preliminary enrollment numbers for Tarleton State University, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary, are approximately 18,000 students, including 3,000+ freshmen, its largest class ever.
