Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport began construction Tuesday on Terminal F – the airport’s sixth terminal and the first new construction of an entire terminal at D-FW since 2005. It will feature a double-loaded concourse with 15 gates and modernized customer amenities.

Lambert’s Ornamental Iron in Haltom City has been purchased by Lambert Forge, LLC, owned by entrepreneur and investor Tim Andres. Founded in 1984 by Jimmy Lambert, the company specializes in the design, fabrication and installation of metal fences, gates, railings, stairs and steel structures. Chris Gruensfelder had owned Lambert's since 1999 and hired Layne Kasper of Kasper & Associates to initiate, structure and negotiate terms of the transaction.

Spirit Airlines Inc. filed for bankruptcy with a plan to hand over control to bondholders after failing to agree on a merger with rivals.

In a sky-high collaboration that's sure to make your taste buds take off, Delta is teaming with Shake Shack to serve burgers at 30,000 feet. The partnership will begin on flights out of Boston Dec. 1, and expand throughout 2025. Customers sitting in first class on routes over 900 miles will be able to pre-select a Shake Shack Cheeseburger as their meal option.

A federal judge has rejected President Joe Biden’s rule increasing the maximum employee salary that would require employers to pay an overtime premium. The rule, which took effect in July, increased the salary cap from $35,500 to $44,000 with increases next year and then every three years. The rule would have provided overtime pay to an additional 4 million workers in 2025. U.S. District Judge Sean Jordan struck it down because it is based on salary, not job duties. A similar attempt to increase the maximum salary for overtime was struck down in 2017.

The College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts at Texas A&M University selected Sony Electronics for equipment and technology in the emerging Virtual Production Institute, which is based in Bryan-College Station with an extension at Texas A&M-Fort Worth.

A piece of the roof at the home of the Dallas Cowboys fell to the field while the retractable portion of it was being opened. AT&T Stadium was mostly empty when the incident occurred, and team officials said nobody was injured. The roof was closed without incident about an hour later.

It’s been 25 years since one of Texas’ greatest tragedies. The Nov. 18, 1999, Aggie Bonfire collapse killed 11 Texas A&M University students and one former student while injuring 27 others.

In September, Brandon Aubrey of the Dallas Cowboys kicked a 65-yard field goal, the second-longest in NFL history. It was hardly a fluke: This season, he has made 10 field goals of 50 or more yards, the first player in NFL history to make at least 10 field goals from 50-plus yards in consecutive seasons. Through the first 10 weeks of the 2024 season, there were 153 attempts of at least 50 yards, compared with just 58 in 2004. The frequency of shorter field goals has stayed about the same. Dr. Brian Gladue has announced his retirement as executive vice president of research and innovation at the UNT Health Science Center. Dr. Robert McClain, HSC’s associate vice president for innovation, will assume the interim role for Gladue starting Jan. 1, 2025. In addition, Thomas Cunningham, associate vice president for research administration, is leaving for Texas A&M.
