The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin have pushed back an estimate of when deliveries of newly upgraded F-35s can begin by several months, a further delay that means as many as two dozen fewer Joint Strike Fighters will be delivered in 2023 than expected.

TCU's Flying T merchandise is back in stock at the university’s bookstore. Marshall Harris designed the logo for the school when he played football there (1974-1978), and it was finally retired in the early 1990s. Arlington has given a reprieve of sorts to 26 murals in the city, including Juan Velazquez’s mural that depicts Texas Rangers infielder Rougned Odor punching Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays. They will be grandfathered into compliance; they won't need a permit until they need to be repainted or the building changes ownership.
Fort Worth has been named the top pro-growth city in the country. The Free Cities Index by the Pacific Research Institute ranks the 50 largest cities by pro-growth policy. Fort Worth was followed by Austin and Colorado Springs. New York, Los Angeles and Oakland were ranked as the least pro-growth large cities.
Tarrant County Commissioner Roy Charles Brooks will not seek reelection in 2024. Brooks has been a member of the Commissioners Court representing Southwest Tarrant County since 2004.

Fort Worth-based TTI, a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, has become an authorized distributor of Kyocera LCD display products in North America. Kyocera offers a variety of Thin-Film-Transistor (TFT) and Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) displays. The companies say they will focus on expansion opportunities in the industrial, medical and eMobility markets.

According to a filing, a third Portillo’s location is coming to Tarrant County. Construction will begin later this year on a location in Mansfield, with an expected opening of May 2024. Locations in Arlington and north Fort Worth are slated to open later this year. The concept known for hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches has flourished in north Texas after the first restaurant in The Colony posted strong sales.
