Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works unit and BAE Systems’ FalconWorks will work jointly to develop a family of unmanned autonomous air systems. The collaboration will combine the companies’ advanced research, rapid prototyping and manufacturing capabilities to design modular, low-cost platforms that can be deployed quickly across multiple domains. Initial efforts will center on an electronic warfare and attack systems. 

Maykus Homes is developing a gated community in North Richland Hills that will feature 47 single-family homes within Keller ISD. Eason Maykus said the first two homes will be completed by late October or early November.

Eddie Garcia will earn $306,000 a year as Fort Worth's police chief after City Council members approved his hire. The offer officially is $147.12 per hour and includes a $10,000 relocation fee, which would be paid on a pro-rata basis during the first two years.

The State Fair of Texas will not be giving away free tickets to high school students within a 100-mile radius of Fair Park this year but will offer a $12 ticket Monday-Thursday. Free admission will continue for Pre-K through 8th-grade students and all teachers for Pre-K through 12th grade.

The State Fair of Texas again will prohibit fairgoers from carrying all firearms, knives (other than small pocket knives), clubs, explosive devices, ammunition, chemical dispensing devices, or weapons of any kind. This includes concealed carry and open carry of firearms anywhere on the fairgrounds, including Cotton Bowl Stadium. This policy does not include elected, appointed or employed peace officers.
