The Texas Attorney General's office secured a victory in its fight to hold TikTok accountable for harming children. Texas is the first state to hold TikTok liable for misleading parents about the safety of its platform and for exposing children to inappropriate content. The case will proceed to trial, expected next month, to determine relief and penalties.

Fort Worth newcomer Joby Aviation, which is developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service at Perot Field (Alliance), has kicked off its first White House-backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program flights. For about a week, the Joby eVTOL will fly routes across north Texas, including direct flights to D-FW International Airport.

Energy Transfer and its publicly traded affiliates—Sunoco, Sunoco Corp., and USA Compression—are moving to the Dallas-based Texas Stock Exchange. Kelcy Warren, Energy Transfer’s chairman and founder, owns nearly 30 percent of TXSE Group, making him the largest shareholder. The four corporate listings represent nearly $100 billion in combined market value. Trading is expected to begin the first week of October.

Believe it or not: The Dallas Cowboys lead all NFL teams with an estimated value of $16 billion, according to CNBC. That is up $3.5 billion (28%) from last year. The Los Angeles Rams are second at $14.5 billion.  

South Carolina clothing retailer Born United has been ordered by a judge to pay more than $850,000 after the company admitted to infringing on Buc-ee's trademark. Born United is prohibited from using Buc-ee's beaver logo or anything similar, requires Born United to destroy merchandise bearing the disputed logo and remove advertisements featuring it. 

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art selected Robert Stein as its executive director and CEO. Stein, who starts Nov. 9, had been with the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., where he has served as chief information officer since 2023. He succeeds Andrew J. Walker, who left in August 2025 after 14 years. Stein is known for his innovative use of technology; at the National Gallery, he initiated a project to make the institution’s works available to blind and low-vision visitors.

BNSF Railway agreed to pay a Nebraska ranching company $3,750,000 for damage caused by a wildfire believed to have been sparked by a train in 2023. The fire destroyed nearly 40,000 acres of land held by H & S Ranches, Jason and Sophia Held, and Monte and Chris Sierks.

A federal bankruptcy court approved the Chapter 11 reorganization plan for Village Homes of Fort Worth. With the plan confirmed, the company has preserved its existing ownership and leadership and restored its operations under the plan without the court’s oversight. The University of North Texas has received a $20-million gift and, in their honor, will establish the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics. It will serve as an academic and research hub focused on artificial intelligence, intelligent systems and data analytics, bringing together expertise in areas including AI, cybersecurity, data science, advanced analytics, health informatics, information science, library science and learning technologies.

Haltom City-based BMS CAT, a provider of disaster recovery, restoration and reconstruction services, has agreed to acquire Florida-based Integrity Environmental Group, which finds solutions for environmental challenges, including asbestos, lead and mold remediation.  

American Airlines and Fort Worth's CR Smith Museum are marking the day of Al-Qaeda's attack on the U.S. by opening their archive of more than 1,000 artifacts to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York, with additional support going to the Memorial's Never Forget Fund and the Pentagon Memorial Fund. 

The Trump administration plans to send $500 rebate checks to as many as 1 million people who it says were overcharged for their coverage under Obamacare. The direct-deposit payment would be sent to people in 30 states — including Texas — before the Nov. 3 mid-term election.

Elbit Systems re-named its U.S. operating segment headquartered in Fort Worth to Twenty-Six Defense. The company has 3,300 employees and has been producing defense weapons in the U.S. for three decades. "Launching Twenty-Six Defense underscores our growth in the American market and reinforces our commitment to supporting U.S. warfighters, wherever the mission takes place," said Luke Savoie, President and CEO. 

Newmark negotiated the sale of Cornerstone Plaza, a 51,664-square-foot shopping center in Southlake. Cook Children’s Medical Center anchors the two-building center, which is fully leased at the time of sale. Conor Lalor, Kyle Minter and Justin Shepherd of Newmark represented the seller, Woodside Health, an Ohio-based private equity firm specializing in healthcare real estate. The buyer was not disclosed.

Amazon will spend more than $230 million for Whole Foods employees by raising the hourly pay and offering benefits to the grocery chain's 100K team members. Pay will rise to $21 an hour and a value of $29 per hour on average when including elected benefits. Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, eligible team members gain access to health, family and financial support benefits for as little as $5 per week. Part-time employees will receive dental and vision coverage and free basic life insurance.

The Keller Planning & Zoning Commission voted to approve a specific use permit for a Kroger Marketplace with a gas station. The location is on 16.3 acres at 1025 Keller Parkway. The Kroger at 976 Keller Parkway would close. Also, a mixed-use development called Samantha Springs Commerce, which would have 31 brownstone homes, passed unanimously.

American Airlines and Hyatt loyalty programs are breaking up by the end of Feb. 2027. In a release, they stated we "have mutually decided to not continue our enhanced relationship." Another report says Hyatt and Delta Air Lines are partnering. 

Legend Bank has regulatory approvals from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, along with shareholder approval from Graham Savings and Loan, and will acquire the Graham institution.
