The stock of Wistron, a Taiwan corporation with its U.S. office and smart manufacturing hub in Fort Worth, took a 6% dive when the server maker priced a $1.47-billion global depository receipt offering at a discount to its previous close. 

The intersection of Henderson Street and Belknap Street on the west edge of downtown is the most dangerous in Fort Worth after an analysis of five years of state crash records, according to Fort Worth's Patterson Law Group. The location logged 197 police-reported crashes from 2021 through 2025, 73 of them with injuries, and its 51 crashes in 2025 were the most recorded at any Fort Worth intersection in a single year.

The Kimbell Art Museum has acquired a bronze sculpture of Samson cast in Rome in 1624 by artist Stefano Maderno. It is the first 17th-century bronze to enter the museum's collection. Samson and Two Philistines stands a little over two feet tall and depicts Samson raising a donkey's jawbone to strike down an enemy, with two beaten Philistine figures collapsed beneath him.

Nanoscope Therapeutics, a TechFW graduate headquartered in Dallas, is seeking FDA approval for MOGENRY®. The one-time treatment in a doctor's office is for people who have lost most of their vision to retinitis pigmentosa (RP), an inherited eye disease that slowly destroys the light-sensing cells in the retina. MOGENRY uses a harmless virus to deliver new genetic instructions into the eye, essentially teaching remaining eye cells to sense light in a new way. 

Sweden will purchase High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems from Lockheed Martin as the country expands its long-range firepower. The agreement, valued at approximately $729 million, will include about 10 HIMARS launchers and ammunition. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2027.

Fort Worth's Urban Design Commission approved a set of design waivers for a 4.5-story parking garage in the Stockyards at Ellis Avenue and NW 25th Street. Parking Systems of America, M.L. Leddy's and the Franklin family will replace a 55-space surface lot with 246 spaces. Construction could start Oct. 1, per a state filing. 

A new TSA pilot program that includes D-FW International Airport is bringing back the ability to walk your loved ones through the terminals or meet an arriving friend without a ticket. Gateside by TSA PreCheck is an exclusive benefit for trusted travelers and allows non-flyers to “return to the gate for welcomes and send-offs, meet friends during a layover, and enjoy dining and shopping.”

The Sid W. Richardson Foundation has made a $1 million grant to the Fort Worth ISD for the acquisition and deployment of next-generation security technology designed to enhance safety across district campuses and athletic facilities. The investment "will enable FWISD to advance its ongoing commitment to providing secure, welcoming schools where students, educators, staff and families can focus on teaching, learning and community ... and technology improvements that strengthen the district’s ability to deter, identify and respond to potential safety concerns in a timely and coordinated manner." 

TCU Athletics agreed on a multi-year partnership that names Spectrum its Official Internet, Wireless and Television Service Provider. Additionally, Spectrum will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Frog Walk, a pre-game tradition before every home game.

TCU's Department of Fashion Merchandising launched the Athlete Equipment and Materials Design Lab, a research and testing space focused on products worn in extreme and demanding environments. Healthcare Shares, a physician-backed venture capital firm with Fort Worth and New York addresses, announced a raise that provides a $2.5-million fund for investments in early-stage healthcare startups. The Tarrant Appraisal District Board adopted a re-appraisal plan for 2027–2028 that instructs the chief appraiser to re-appraise properties in odd-numbered years, rather than annually.

Dickies may be removing its signature on the arena in Fort Worth, but the Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. has applied to re-zone 22 acres in north Fort Worth for a new distribution and warehouse near an existing facility at 9201 NE U.S. Highway 287. A public hearing is scheduled today and the City Council vote could be October 13.

Target has set an Oct. 11 opening for its 148,000-square-foot store at the northwest corner of Chisholm Trail Parkway and McPherson Boulevard. The southwest Fort Worth location will employ approximately 150.
