By a 5-4 vote, the justices ruled against a Texas landlord, Lebene Konan, who alleges her mail was intentionally withheld for two years. The Supreme Court will hear from oil and gas companies trying to block lawsuits seeking to hold the industry liable for billions of dollars in damage linked to climate change. The court agreed to take up a case from Boulder, Colorado, one of many alleging companies deceived the public about how fossil fuels contribute to climate change. States have sought damages totaling billions to help pay for rebuilding after wildfires, rising sea levels and severe storms worsened by climate change.

The Federal Railroad Administration has told Amtrak to restructure the railroad into three separate operating entities under a holding company, the Rail Passengers Association reported. BNSF Railway reached a tentative five-year agreement with members of the Transportation Communications Union Intermodal group. The agreement covers 746 employees. It would provide raises totaling 17.5% (18.8% compounded) over the five-year life of the agreement, with retroactive pay to July 1, 2025. Lockheed Martin flight-tested what could become an artificial intelligence feature on its F-35 Lightning fighter, designed to identify unknown contacts for the pilot. “The successful demonstration … marks the first time a tactical AI model has been used in flight to generate an independent Combat ID on the pilot’s display,” the company said.
