Three unions representing flight attendants at major U.S. airlines picketed and held a “day of action” at 30 airports Tuesday to push for new contracts with higher wages. Pilots won huge pay raises last year while flight attendants have not had an increase in several years. Federal law makes it difficult for airline unions to conduct legal strikes; mediators already turned down one request by flight attendants at American Airlines to begin a countdown to a strike.

Nearly 93% of the 420 members of the local Teamsters' union authorized a strike against the Fort Worth Molson Coors brewery Sunday. Negotiations have continued unsuccessfully since the fall. Workers want a three-year contract with pay raises, and improved health care and retirement benefits.

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents approved a Virtual Production Institute that integrates real-world scenarios and extended reality technology to advance problem-solving and support workforce development across industries. It will be based on the Bryan-College Station campus with an extension at the Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus. $25 million was funded as a special item by the 88th Texas Legislature.

Cook Children’s is the recipient and primary institution of a $2.3-million research project grant by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke of the National Institutes of Health. The grant will fund research using a combination of imaging techniques to better identify the location of seizure origin in children with drug-resistant epilepsy. 

The Court of Appeals in The Hague (Netherlands) ruled its government must, within seven days, halt the supply to Israel of U.S.-owned parts for Lockheed Martin F-35 combat aircraft stored in warehouses. A petition was brought against the Netherlands government by human rights organizations on the grounds that the supply of the parts could implicate the country in war crimes.  

Celebrity chef Carla Pellegrino, who has appeared on Top Chef and the Food Network, will run the kitchen of Teatro Bistro & Cocktail Lounge, which opens this week at 120 S. Main St in Grapevine and is accepting reservations. Operating partner Marlon Tapanes said the restaurant will serve new American cuisine with a European twist. 

Who knew? There's a Pokémon Day Feb. 23 and Best Buy and GameStop are giving away a special edition Ceruledge card with any purchase. More important is Feb. 27 when Nintendo could announce its new console and whether Pokémon is a part.  

The City of Mansfield has approved a partnership with FC Dallas and REV Sports Management to operate and assist with the design and construction of a multi-use soccer complex approved by voters last year. FC Dallas will also lead all sports programming at the facility, including youth soccer and international tournaments.

The Super Bowl went into overtime, and thanks to some planning ahead, CBS had sold insurance units to air during unexpected bonus breaks. Another 10 ad spots occurred in overtime, generating an estimated $60 million.
