Texas Rangers' REV Entertainment and real estate developer Vela have launched a sports-adjacent, mixed-use firm RVX Ventures to target pro and college development projects. 

The U.S. Department of State has approved a possible sale to Germany highlighted by eight shipsets of an AEGIS-based Integrated Combat System and supporting equipment. The estimated total cost is $11.9 billion and the principal contractors would be Lockheed Martin and RTX.

RapidFire Safety & Security has acquired ACT Low Voltage, a fire systems provider based in Keller. Founded in 2010 and led by President Bryan Bingham, ACT Low Voltage specializes in the installation and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. RapidFire’s existing suite of services includes access control, video surveillance and integrated life safety systems.

Tarrant County College trustees approved the idea of an Associate of Applied Science in air traffic control, and authorized curriculum development. Reports say there is a shortage of thousands of certified controllers to manage a system that handles 45,000 flights daily. Pending approval from two accreditation boards, the program could launch as early as spring 2027. 

Tarrant County College and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County agreed to open their Alliance Employer Hub at the college's Erma C. Johnson Northwest Center of Excellence for Aviation, Transportation and Logistics. On-site Workforce Solutions staff will give students access to job matching, employer connections, hiring events and career navigation services in the heart of one of north Texas’ fastest-growing commercial and industrial areas.

Early voting for the May 2 starts today and ends April 28. Election Day is May 2.

Victory+, a free sports streaming platform, announced a multi-year, mostly original content distribution partnership with the Dallas Cowboys. The platform will carry an existing slate of programming, including Draft Day Insider, Inside Training Camp, Flashback, Storyline, Game Night and Cowboys Spotlight, along with live and on-demand access to every coach's press conference throughout the season. Beginning with Thursday's 2026 NFL Draft, fans within the Cowboys’ home market and Mexico can stream Cowboys content on mobile, web and connected TV platforms.

“Eye to Eye: Two Lives in Art”, a 28-minute documentary film about 75-year-old twin artists Daniel and Dennis Blagg, will premiere for free Wednesday night at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The brothers have been prominent for more than 50 years and founded Artspace111 near downtown in 1980. 

Announced in 2023, contract beverage manufacturer DrinkPAK opened a 1.4-million-square-foot facility at 7777 Oak Grove Road in Fort Worth. Estimates were it would be a $300-million build. The plant will manufacture energy drinks, sodas, waters, hard seltzers, canned cocktails, and milk and milk-alternatives like canned cold brew and oat milk-based drinks. Fort Worth passed a 10-year tax abatement of up to 70% of incremental real and business personal property — an estimated value of $21 million. 

University of Oklahoma female gymnasts won consecutive NCAA titles, their fourth in five years and 8th overall at Dickies Arena during the weekend. Oklahoma finished with 198.1625 to hold off LSU's 198.075. Florida was third, just ahead of Minnesota.

The U.S. Supreme Court sided unanimously with oil companies in a lawsuit, sending a state jury verdict that ordered Chevron to pay $745 million for the erosion of Louisiana's coastal wetlands back to federal court. Chevron argued the work started as an effort to quickly increase the supply of aviation gasoline for the U.S. during World War II and so should be heard in federal court.

Tarleton State University’s graduate-level degree programs will be highlighted for prospective students Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Fort Worth campus off Chisholm Trail Parkway, 10850 Texan Rider Drive. Topics include programs and scholarships/financial aid. Application fees will be waived for one week for attendees.

Fort Worth says it anticipates no increase in property taxes if a $1.3-billion bond package is approved by voters May 2. Of course, not everyone agrees on the issue of taxes.

Daily digit: The world's busiest airports from 2025 data have been named — and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International is No.1 for the fifth consecutive year, according to the Airports Council International. Last year, 106.3 million passengers passed through the Georgia hub. Second was Dubai International Airport with 95.2 million. Tokyo Haneda Airport moved up one place to third (91.7 million), followed by D-FW International Airport with 85.7 million and Shanghai with 85 million. 

Significant stat: A Gallup poll found that young American men have overtaken young women in religious engagement for the first time in 25 years. The share of men ages 18-29 who say religion is “very important” surged to 42% in 2024-2025. During the same period, young women’s attachment remained steady at around 30%.
