The Texas Department of Public Safety's No. 1 Most Wanted Fugitive is in jail in Tarrant County. Victor Hugo Chox Gonzalez, 38, was wanted for aggravated assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual conduct. He was taken into custody by DPS Special Agents and booked into the county jail.
ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas and others testified in the Senate Committee on Business & Commerce that within six years, Texas’ power grid needs will grow from about 85,000 to 150,000 megawatts. Lt. Gov. In 2023, there were 16 storms that exceeded $1 billion in damages. The last five years, home values have risen 40% and auto values 30%.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden denied the True Texas Project (formerly NE Tarrant Tea Party) use of the venue July 12-13 to celebrate the group’s 15th birthday. But Fort Worth city attorney Leann Guzman said the city owns the garden and ordered the cancellation to be reversed.
