Southwire Company, specialists in wire and cable, has opened the largest customer service center in AllianceTexas. The 1.2M-square-foot distribution facility is expected to employ 250 with modernized storage solutions and automated material handling.

The Dallas Mavericks are done with Bally Sports Southwest. Pending bankruptcy court approval, Diamond Sports Group, which broadcasts Bally-branded regional sports networks, terminated its contracts with the Mavs and New Orleans Pelicans. 

The $13-million renovation of Meadowbrook Golf Course in east Fort Worth is part of the fiscal year 2025 budget, which will be finalized in September. The scope of work includes re-routing the course, new irrigation, expanded and renovated parking areas, a new putting green and a short-game practice area.

BNSF Railway said it had reached tentative, five-year collective bargaining agreements with a number of its unions. The agreements come four months before the opening of the next round of bargaining and cover approximately 15% of BNSF workers.

AllCity Networks, already in Denver, Phoenix, Chicago and Philadelphia, has plans to expand its sports podcast programming into the D-FW market as early as this week. Though unconfirmed, AllCity has hired local media that have covered the area’s professional teams, including Clarence Hill, who announced his departure from the Star-Telegram last week. 

According to the Star-Telegram’s Bud Kennedy, chef Tim Love plans another dining concept at 4424 White Settlement Rd. in Fort Worth. Love purchased property adjacent to his Italian restaurant, Gemelle, and plans a fall opening. The site is the location of a shuttered Greek convenience store called George’s Cash & Carry. In addition, D Magazine reports that Love has partnered with The Cliburn to launch a classic alternative concert series at Tannahill’s Music Hall in the Stockyards.

The 500,000-acre cattle ranch spans 790 square miles (more than double the size of Fort Worth), has eight homes and around 900 cows that are available for purchase with the property. From the University of Texas System Board of Regents: “Institutions should not, in their official capacity, issue or express positions on issues of the day, however appealing they may be to some members of the university community,” reads the new language that was added to the system’s statement on freedom of speech and expression and approved by the board. The policy does not apply to individual faculty, staff or students' free speech and only relates to “official university statements, functions, ceremonies, and publications.”
